WANA (May 10) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Saturday, May 10, to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

 

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of Iran-Saudi relations and emphasized their countries’ shared determination to pursue the vision of their leaders in expanding cooperation across all areas.

 

Araghchi underscored the need for greater unity within the Islamic world in confronting emerging threats and challenges—particularly the situation in occupied Palestine.

 

He called for an urgent halt to the ongoing genocide and warned against efforts aimed at the colonial erasure of Palestine.

The Iranian diplomat also briefed his Saudi counterpart on the latest developments in Iran-U.S. indirect talks, highlighting ongoing diplomatic efforts.

 

Araghchi arrived in Jeddah earlier in the day at the head of a diplomatic delegation for high-level consultations on bilateral, regional, and international matters. He also signed the guestbook at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Later on Saturday, Araghchi is set to travel to Doha to participate in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue Summit.
